Trans Sidera

PLEASE NOTE: Trans Sidera is not yet open to the public as it is still in alpha testing! Our opening date is not yet set but it is expected within the next few months.  If you wish to be notified when it opens, please send an email to admin@transsidera.com.

Trans Sidera is free to access. It runs on an OpenSimulator server which can be accessed by a free program called a “viewer.” While many viewers exist and most will work fine with Trans Sidera, the only one we fully support is Firestorm. It can be downloaded for Windows, Macintosh or Linux. A limited viewer called Lumya can be downloaded from the Android app store (for a small fee) so you can even play from your phone or tablet- but don’t expect much from this app. (Update:  While Lumiya can still be located for download, it is not readily available any more, and does not work well.)

In order to connect to our server, first install Firestorm. Under the “Viewer” menu, select “Preferences.” Then click on the “Opensim” tab. Under “Add new grid,” type: “server.transsidera.com:8002” and click “Apply,” then “OK.”

Now at the bottom, you will have an option to “Log into Grid” called “Trans Sidera.” If you have not yet created an account, you will need to do that first by clicking “Create an account” just above the “Log In” button. Enter your username (which is your character’s first and last name) and password, then click “Log In.”

It’s that easy!  Upon entering Trans Sidera for the first time, you will land in our Welcome Center.  Use your arrow keys to move, and there you will find totorials, suggested settings for your viewer, and everything you need to initially set up and customize your avatar.

At the minimum, please make sure that under Preferences > Graphics, you have “Advanced Lighting Model” checked.  Trans Sidera will not display properly without it.

Download Firestorm for free here.

Note:  Viewers typically point to Second Life by default.  We are not Second Life, nor are we associated with Second Life, nor do we want to be.  If you are expecting a Second-Life-like experience, please go to Second Life and leave us alone. 🙂
